Ramadan Mubarak to all of my brothers and sisters in Islam fasting and non-fasting. May this , our holiest of months bring you closer to our Creator.

A day and night in Paris…. It was never my dream to be here, it was never a thought or a consideration. My daughter, while sitting in her Freshman university orientation heard two words that made her face light up, “Study Abroad “. With that, she made the grades, submitted the forms and did all the tasks she had to do to qualify for the program despite being a Freshman in her second semester. I confessed to her that I too considered studying abroad but at the time, I was too afraid to pursue it. She looked at me and said, “Mom, I’m scared too but I’m going to do it anyway”. I told her that was the definition of bravery. I’m so proud of her and because of her bravery, I saw 7 cities in Europe in 7 days. I had the trip I never dreamed of having because she had the courage to step out of her comfort zone and despite it all, she did it anyway..

My 2022 Recap!! It was a great year! So many firsts...so let's keep that going! Here's to new experiences in the new year.

Why are “rest days” so painful yet so important?

Showing off my bright suit! I certainly have no issue with being spotted by the lifeguards during open water swims. This will be my last supported open water swim this season. Where has the time gone?

A supported open water swim is totally worth it!! This was my first open water swim this year and the season is almost over! I wanted to get a few on the training plan before my big ocean swim in October. Now, being in the middle of the country, getting to the ocean is more inconvenient but hopefully I can log a couple of miles in the ocean prior to Ironman Barcelona 70.3! It really just sinking in just how soon this is.🫣
